Can Hardik Pandya become the next "MS DHONI" ?

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this blog. Being an Indian, I am a big fan of both cricket and MSD. The former Indian captain has won hearts of many cricket fans and surely I am one of them. So today, we are going to discuss the question whether Hardik Pandya can become the next MS Dhoni?

DHONI'S INABILITIES??

In the past few years we have seen that MS Dhoni is not able to finish matches as frequently as he used to do before. We all know that he is still the smartest cricketer on the cricket field but have his batting skills dipped?

The answer to this question is NO. It's not that his batting skills have dipped but bowlers have become smarter against him. Dhoni has a very predictible batting technique and he does not have the kind of dynamic shots that possibly AB Devilliers or Glen maxwell have and bowlers have taken advantage of this.

Bowl Dhoni a length ball or a ball which is very full, then you will find the ball only in the stands but if the ball is bowled anywhere else then the probablity of a boundary from Dhoni's bat is very less.

So DHONI, still has the finishing skills but bowlers have minimized his hitting zones.

IS HARDIK PANDYA THE SOLUTION?

Hardik Pandya is a fast bowling all rounder whom India needed from a long time

Hardik Pandya first showed his glimpses in IPL 2015 and since then he is in and out of the Indian team. But the Indian team has shown trust in him by picking him up in the Champions Trophy 2017 squad. He bats at number 6 and has a very good strike rate.

HARDIK'S ABILITIES??

Hardik is quite young as well as quite fit. He doesn't has a very muscular body but he surely has the hitting abilities. If we look at the hitting zones of both MS dhoni and Hardik Pandya then we will surely realise that Hardik's hitting zone is more diverse than Dhoni's. Hardik can hit the shorter as well as the fuller deliveries outside the park as well as for boundaries. Hitting spinners is also not an issue for Hardik.

CONCLUSION

If we compare "Hardik the finisher" with "Dhoni the finisher then I would conclude that Dhoni is more of a very smart and a sensible finisher but on the other side Hardik is more of a ruthless finisher.

Dhoni is a lot more experienced than Hardik and Hardik has to learn a lot from Dhoni to be a sucessful finisher.

Finishing a cricket game is a very difficult and a temperory skill but hats off to MS DHONI maintain this skill for such a long time and always help the Indain team.

Dhoni will be dhoni.... there is no comparision. Now that he is not the captain, he should come up the order and show his hitting skills. Hardik on the other hand still has to learn and be consistent...... once he learns the tricks of trade he can be set along Dohni.
