Can Pro-Kabaddi pick-up in India as IPL did?

Can Pro-Kabaddi pick up as IPL did? Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this article. I am a big fan of cricket and as I live in India, it's obvious that I even love the IPL. Such has been the magic of IPL ,that for some it is just a cricket match, for some it's like this:   OR.. LIKE THIS: And for some, IPL is even their bread and butter: (match-fixing) But, as the IPL was getting older and older, getting some wrinkles on it's face(allegations of match-fixing), it's small brother named the Pro kabaddi league took birth in 2014.  AND BOOOM!!  1st season Pro kabaddi league: 552 million viewers (Not a joke!) 11 huge sponsors!! 70 crores ad revenue!! All these stats are not as huge as the stats of IPL but then too for a league to generate such great numbers for the 1st season and for a sport which is not too popular at the global level is a big thing. Why this popularity? I used to ask my grand mother about how kabaddi...

Why do we love MS Dhoni so much ?

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this article. I am a big fan of cricket and I am from India and off course if I am an Indian cricket fan, I am even a fan of MS Dhoni. Such a person MS Dhoni is, we like him just so much. But, why do we love him so much?? Let's uncover the answer to this question right in this article!! Is our love for MSD just due to his success ?? NO! NO! NO!  not at all. I know MS Dhoni has had a very successful career. He has won India all the 3 ICC tournaments with his great captaincy, he has won us many games with his batting skills, he had made India the number 1  test side and so many other things....... He is so dependable that we can't imagine an side now without MS Dhoni. But I can assure you that this love that we have for him is not just due to this success of his. "MSD has give us an invaluable thing which is known as 'happiness' due to which we love him so much"  How does MSD give us this happiness ?? It is not ...

Suresh Raina : A good player, a better person

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this blog. I am big fan of cricket. I observe cricket very closely and even the behavior of players. Over the years, I have observed 1 cricket player on whom I had to write this article not due to the way he plays but due to the kind of person he is. Yes, this cricketer is Suresh Raina. In this article, you are going to know about the struggles that Suresh Raina faced when he was young, some of his best moments on the cricket field and many more things about him. Early STRUGGLES Very rarely do we get a heading in an article of a sports person as " Early struggles" but such was Suresh Raina's life. The Train Incident Only 13, Raina was traveling to Agra with a bunch of teenagers. To cope up with the winter cold, Raina was wearing his cricket kit, sleeping over a newspaper. Soon he felt a weight on his chest and before he could react, a big kid stood on his chest and started urinating on his face. Raina revealed...

Why Is Virat Kohli not the best batsman in the world?

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this blog. As you know I am a CRAZY Indian cricket fan, there is no point in me not loving the best Indian batsman of the modern era. But still I am not convinced that Virat Kohli is the best batsman of the world.[What??] After reading this, you would criticize me a lot but sometimes truths are very bitter and this one case where the truth is bitter. So let us see, why this is true ?  VIRAT'S  STRENGTHS Yes, Virat has many strengths[You would be happy reading this]. So, what are his strengths ?? He has a very good footwork due to which he is a very good batsman against spin. He also reads spinners very well and therefore he does not have any major weaknesses against variations in spin. He has no problem in hitting boundaries ,so he is also a very good hitter and this is even true because he has a very good strike rate for a no. 3 batsman even in T20's. He is even a very good batsman against fast bowling [but has some te...

Has Cricket become tougher for bowlers?

In the past, bowlers used to take wickets but now bowlers are becoming more useful as batsmen!! Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this blog and needs more of your support to write such more blogs. I am a big follower of cricket and I hope even you are. I have been watching cricket from a lot of years and I have even seen the average totals of teams getting higher year after year. Batsmen are hitting bowlers out of the park more easily. All this leads us to the question that is cricket getting more tough for the bowlers?? ANALYSIS ON THE QUESTION Over the years, cricket boundaries have come more inwards or in other words the radius of cricket stadiums is reducing.[What is this leading to?] This is leading to batsman hitting more boundaries and scoring runs has become more easy. The force with which the bat hits the ball also depends upon the bat's thickness or depth. The thickness of bats used by batsman has also increased in this modern age.[ But you can even then ...

Can Hardik Pandya become the next "MS DHONI" ?

Hello all!! This is Suven Jagtiani writing this blog. Being an Indian, I am a big fan of both cricket and MSD. The former Indian captain has won hearts of many cricket fans and surely I am one of them. So today, we are going to discuss the question whether Hardik Pandya can become the next MS Dhoni? DHONI'S INABILITIES??  In the past few years we have seen that MS Dhoni is not able to finish matches as frequently as he used to do before. We all know that he is still the smartest cricketer on the cricket field but have his batting skills dipped? The answer to this question is NO. It's not that his batting skills have dipped but bowlers have become smarter against him. Dhoni has a very predictible batting technique and he does not have the kind of dynamic shots that possibly AB Devilliers or Glen maxwell have and bowlers have taken advantage of this. Bowl Dhoni a length ball or a ball which is very full, then you will find the ball only in the stands but if the ball ...

How is it to meet Virat Kohli ?

Yes you read it right!! I had met Virat Kohli. The morning was very shiny and bright and the moment I got up, I had a gut-feeling that today is going to be a very lucky day for me. And my gut-feeling was totally right. The newspaper was there on my hall's table and the headlines flashed that VIRAT KOHLI  had arrived in Mumbai last night for a shoot of an advertisement for PUMA.[You would be knowing that Virat Kohli has signed a 100 Cr. deal with PUMA] I went mad but there was no mention of where the photo shoot was going to happen. I told this news to my father and then after the morning tea we went for a walk at the R.C.F. R.C.F is a colony and it  has a very big ground. We were passing by the ground and we saw some people in the ground playing a cricket match and there were cameramen and reporters all around that place. We asked some people outside the ground about what was happening in the ground. They told " Arre Virat Kohli khel raha hai andar".  We were lik...
